Here is information on the MLA Format that was posted in our previous FKCC Library Instruction Blog:
MLA Format
What is MLA (Modern Language Association) Format?
It is the format style for your research paper. Many English instructors request that you use this style to document the sources used. MLA also includes the punctuation and quotations, and your works cited page. In order to avoid plagiarism it is important that you give the person credit of the material used for the content.
Sources to consult can be located the FKCC library’s web site
Long quotations should be set off from the text. No quotation marks are needed.
Works Cited Page
-The heading should be centered
-Double space the page
-The list is alphabetized by authors’ last names or by the title when there is no author
-The first line of each entry is at the left margin and the extra lines are indented ½ inch or five spaces
Your works cited page should look like this:(from the webpage at http://dianahacker.com/pdfs/Hacker-Daly-MLA.pdf)
